The ferocious bulldog fish, gluttonous terror of the Niobrara and inland oceans, prone to choking on meals. Xiphactinus is decently common from a lot of inland sea deposits, and as such it's known from Alabama as well. I've actually helped dig up one of these in Dallas, Texas, and ever since it's been one of my favorite prehistoric fish.
The coloration, as suggested by fellow DA user geekspace, is based loosely on that of the speedy little Dorado. I played with Barricuda hues at first, but I got bored with all of the silvers and decided to go for something a little flashier.
