Quetzalcoatlung by Ashere Quetzalcoatlung by Ashere
Little is known about the South American branch of the Lung family--while they maintain the sinuous body plan of their asian cousins, they also exhibit some adaptations of their own. More arboreal then other lungs, and lacking the long whiskers so prevalent in the family, the Quetzalcoatlung (the title was delivered as a joke, but stuck) and its kin are ambush predators. They exhibit feather-like scales covering their back, and have manipulatory forelimbs they use to grasp and hold prey. They are an occasional sight in the jungles, and they rarely attack humans--although some jungle tribes apparently identified the creatures with local deities.

This is great, Asher! The style is more angular than your usual, but it really works.

Thanks. I drew this after reading several hellboy comics, and his style rubbed off on me.
